Meet Mr. Miller
Hello, my name is Mr. Miller and I will be teaching your students for the rest of the semester. Just to tell you a little bit about myself, I was born in Portland and spent most of my childhood growing up in Vancouver, Washington. At the age of 12 my family and I moved to a small town called Woodland, WA. After graduating from Woodland High School, I attended Willamette University in Salem, OR. While at Willamette, I majored in physics and minored in mathematics. After four years at Willamette, I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Physics and immediately began working to achieve my Masters of Arts in Teaching at Willamette.
Growing up in a rural setting, I developed an affinity for the outdoors. One of my favorite activities to do in my free time is fishing, especially fly fishing! I also enjoy camping and hiking. While in college, I served a year as president of the Rod and Reel Club, where I got to organize trips that helped me explore the true beauty that the nature of Oregon has to offer. This enhanced my appreciation for fishing and the outdoors, and I was lucky enough to further develop this appreciation while working one summer in an Alaskan fishing lodge. At this lodge, I was again surrounded by the pristine beauty of nature. This experience showed me the wonders of nature and importance of appreciating the outdoors. Along with the outdoors, I also enjoy playing/coaching sports. Although I like all sports, football is my favorite. I played football for a total of 14 years (4 at Willamette), coached 2 years at Willamette, and now currently coach at South. I am excited to join this educational experience with you and would like to answer any questions you may have and help in any way I can. There are many resources on this website that may help.
